SCHEDULE Monday - Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM and/or 10:00AM - 6:00PM SUMMARY Family Service League is seeking a full-time Mental Health Aide for the DASH (Diagnostic, Assessment, and Stabilization Hub) Crisis Center. The DASH Crisis Center is a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week outpatient crisis stabilization program that includes a 24-hour crisis hotline and mobile response team. The Mental Health Aide will be responsible for greeting incoming guests, managing the main switchboard for the Crisis Center, and performing general clerical duties. RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Mental Health Aide will greet and collect demographic and insurance information for incoming Guests.
- Create EMR record profile and enter profile in separate database.
- Manage the main switchboard for the Crisis Center; direct calls to the appropriate location/program/person/resource. Follow through with individuals seeking information, and/or additional resources which may require additional calls and emails.
- The Mental Health Aide will perform general clerical functions, including answering phones, scheduling, loading appointments, scanning and interacting with clients and referral sources.
- Perform electronic data entry and record keeping.
- The Mental Health Aide will provide insurance verification and authorization.
- Help individuals participate in games and recreational programs.
- Provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
- Work with interdisciplinary staff.
- Ensure the health and safety of staff and clients in emergency situations.
- Abide by FSL's Code of Ethics.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve the goals of the organization.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Foster teamwork, work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions.
- Assess situations to determine importance, urgency/risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
- Set priorities, develop a work schedule, track details, data, and activities of guests.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 6 months of experience in an acute, psychiatric setting preferred. Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required. Strong judgement and problem-solving skills required. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to bend, stretch and stand for long periods.
