0515 Mental Health Assistant Program Director
GENERAL PURPOSE
Assists Mental Health Program Director with behavior services program evaluation, behavior management interventions/training, psychotropic medication monitoring, restraint usage monitoring, and generally provide ongoing consultation with facility staff, outside consultants, and interacting with clients who require behavioral interventions.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Assists with training the orientation classes on behavioral management plans, restraint usage, and behavioral intervention techniques
Coordinate on-going training that include behavior goal implementation with clients, appropriate restraint usage, and collaboration with appropriate staff to assist in development of specialized plans for the improvement of clients behavior
Review and monitor all written behavior management plans
Monitor and track all client behavior occurrences
Monitor and track all physical restraints used for behavioral interventions
Assists with scheduling of all psychiatric appointments and coordinate all psychiatric reports to accompany clients to appointments
Assist in the development and periodical review of behavioral policies and procedures with the Program Director and Administrator
Assist with purchases for departmental supplies
Assists with departmental budget and compile necessary reports
Participate in administrative on-call rotation as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Associates in Psychology or related field
Ability to work flexible work schedules including nights and weekends
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS
Knowledge and application of behavior management principles and practices
Knowledge of psychotropic medication classes and principles
Good organizational skills
Quality speaking and written communication skills
Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information.
Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with residents, families and other employees at all levels.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting (minimum of 10 pounds), fine hand coordination, ability to read and write, the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions, ability to travel, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
