We offer a comprehensive range of evidence-based rehabilitative services, including mental health and substance abuse treatment, housing, vocational training and job placement, healthcare, education, and creative arts therapies.Under the direction of the Program Director, and within the guidelines of all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and Agency code of ethics and policies and procedures, the Counselor supports adults with substance use disorders and/or mental health diagnoses, respects the program participant's rights and maintains established professional boundaries, and delivers services with the goal of assisting program participants to achieve their personalized recovery goals.Essential Position Functions:Provide individual and group counseling and substance use treatment to program participants; provide individual and group therapy; participate in interdisciplinary team meetings for the development of treatment plans and treatment plan reviews.Complete documentation in a timely manner; oversee the day-to-day needs of program participants (i.e., stipends, requests, job functions, routine disciplinary measures, etc.).Ensure that the daily schedule of groups and activities are carried out; attend case conferences as required.Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide adults with person-centered substance use treatment, rehabilitation, and mental health servicesComplete required documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with regulatory oversight agencies and best practices.Work collaboratively with program participants, their families, and community partners to assist program participants in achieving their treatment and recovery goalsCoordinate program participant care through close involvement with hospitals, substance use treatment facilities, probation, and parole, etc.Complete psychosocial, substance use and other treatment-related assessmentsCollaborate with the program participant in the creation of individualized service plans, and crisis/relapse prevention plansUse evidence-based individual and group treatments in the areas of substance use and mental health to address program participant needs (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care)Identify or develop substance use, behavioral health and physical health group curricula to support recoveryProvide support and referrals to assist program participants with needs such as family support, housing, entitlements, employment, education, vocational interests, community integration, and connection to physical health careProvide support and services to assist program participants with needs such as legal advocacy, navigating the criminal justice system, and coordination with legal agencies.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Bachelor's in human services or related field required.Master's degree in the social or behavioral sciences preferred; LMHC; LMSW; LCSW or the ability to acquire the certification preferred. Knowledge of theories, principles, and techniques of individual and group counseling, substance use services, and harm reduction.Behavioral Health and Substance Use Treatment required, Group experience preferred Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written.Knowledge of AWARDS and EMR systemsWillingness to learn and participate in trauma-informed training and interventions.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenMulticultural, bilingual highly desired.The Bridge Inc. is an Affirmative Action / Equal Opportunity Employer
