JOB ID#31239AParent interview (to assess parenting skills, family dynamics, family strengths, family needs, quality of the attachment between child and family and mental status).Conducts current caretaker interview (to assess permanency, parenting skills, family dynamics, family strengths, quality of attachment to child and home environment).Interviews other potential caregiver(s) as identified by DCFS.Gathers medical and dental information. When available, the DCFS Regional Public Health Nurse or designated staff will collect and provide this information, including information from the medical hub. Consults with past or current service providers.Collects data (health records, Hub Medical Exam 562(a) (when available), educational and vocational records, psychosocial/mental health treatment records, prior psychological assessments developmental and family history, DCFS placement history and The Regional Center and juvenile justice records, if applicable. Arranges for diagnostic testing, if indicated.Generates referrals for ongoing mental health services (and other services as needed) in the child's area of residence and ensures services are established prior to closing the case. Provides the DCFS MAT Coordinator with a copy of the draft Summary of Findings Report for review by the team members prior to the MAT meeting.Submits the final Summary of Findings Report within 30-45 days after acceptance of the complete referral packet.Provides individual therapy or crisis management as needed until the child is linked to ongoing mental health services.Maintains valid California Driver's License and insurance.QualificationsThe ideal candidate must have a Master degree in Social Work or related from an accredited school of social work, psychology or related field from an accredited school. California licensure as LCSW, AMFT, or equivalent licensed therapist or registered intern with the appropriate California licensing board.Two year's experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and their families. Experience working in a community mental health setting is highly preferred. Ability to speak Spanish is HIGHLY preferred.Two years providing field-based services, including gathering assessment information. Must pass Department of Justice Fingerprint Clearance.Valid California Driver's License is required.
