If you want to have a positive impact in the lives of others come join us!The Clinician II is a member of a multi-disciplinary team, which provides telephonic and outreach crisis intervention and evaluation services to individuals and families. The primary goals of these crisis services programs are to divert individuals from, admission to an emergency department, the criminal justice system, and inpatient psychiatric treatment while maximizing the use of community resources for stabilization purposes. These programs serve individuals who could have a co-occurring disorder and might also be homeless. The MCAT team serves individuals who are 21+ years old.The Clinician II provides rapid response, assessment services, crisis intervention, engagement, supportive counseling, information and referral, assistance with Medicaid enrollment as appropriate, linkage to requested/necessary resources and appropriate community-based mental health and linkage to substance use services for ongoing treatment and follow-up. SHIFT: Sunday-Wednesday 8AM-7PM - This shift is eligible for added shift differential of 2.75%.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide crisis and hospital diversion services to youth, adults, and families in a behavioral health crisis and facilitate use of/access to crisis hospital diversion resources.Provide initial and follow-up phone and face to face assessments for individuals who are at moderate or high risk.Complete suicide and homicide risk assessments to determine a level of response needed to maintain the safety of the client or others.In collaboration with client and their support network, develop stabilization and safety plans.Create or further develop recovery plans and on-going support to promote care plan goals and objectives.Refer individuals who are eligible to Trueblood forensic programs, as appropriate.Complete comprehensive documentation which supports the safety plan as indicated.Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of community resources and ability to access resources to support and address client needs.Follow up on referrals made regarding at risk/high risk children, youth, and families to ensure stabilization and/or services obtained.Maintain working relationships with the courts, attorneys, providers, police and sheriff's deputies, jail staff, clinical and administrative persons at inpatient psychiatric facilities.throughout the state, staff of other agencies, advocates and consumer groups and citizens.Participate in Peer Review, supervision, in-center educational and administrative meetings as directed.Maintain client records and all other required documentation in a timely and confidential manner, in accordance with agency policies and practices.Assist non-Medicaid individuals to access Medicaid as appropriate.Provide case management and wrap-around services as needed.Assist clients in obtaining basic needs such as emergency housing/shelter services, financial assistance, medical services, medications, and other resources that will help them maintain stability in the community.Provide coaching, advocacy, information and referral, linkage and coordination with resources, and ongoing supports.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE: REQUIRED:Master's degree in behavioral health related fieldMust submit for Agency Affiliation within 30 days of hirePREFERRED:Two years of experience working with psychiatrically impaired populationsProfessional licensure in the state of Washington.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Strong engagement and customer service skills, empathy, ability to remain calm, professional, and clear headed during escalated situations.Knowledge and skills in working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.Knowledge of or ability to gain knowledge of all WAC and RCW requirements for Crisis and Involuntary Treatment ServicesAbility to communicate and engage effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds, trauma experiences, cultures, education level, and socio-economic status.Demonstrate evidence of critical thinking, decision-making ability, problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously.Must have reliable transportation, insurance and an active driver's license and be willing to use personal vehicle in the course of work.PHYSICAL, SENSORY & ENVIRONMENTAL:The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
