This position will primarily be embedded with Barnwell County Sheriff's office and at the Barnwell County Detention Center.Job PurposeUnder limited supervision, provides crisis intervention, therapy, clinical assessment, and referral services to adults, children and families referred by and involved with Barnwell County Sheriff's Office, Barnwell County Detention Center, and local law enforcement agencies.Job Functions Provides crisis services during business hours, and assists with on-call coverage of the entire ABMHC catchment area twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, three hundred sixty-five (365) days per year. As requested, assists LE with emergency calls requiring de-escalation expertise or involving individuals with mental health needs. Required to take 4 on-call shifts per month during week and 2 weekend shifts per month.Utilizes clinical skills in providing screening, crisis, and therapeutic interventions, assessment, and resources to adults, children, and families who have been identified as high-risk for psychological and functional impairment following a traumatic event. Delivers follow-up care to patients after traumatic experiences, and ensures patient are seen in accordance with their needs. Will also provide MH Services at the Barnwell County Detention Center.Engages in case consultation with LE officers and victim advocates to generate referral leads regarding individuals identified as in need of mental health resources and/or interventions. Serves as liaison with law enforcement personnel to ensure treatment access and facilitation of outside referral for recommended patients.Conducts triage and assessment of individuals seeking assistance to identify appropriate services.Completes documentation according to South Carolina Department of Mental Health (SCDMH) Quality Assurance (QA) standards and complies with Corporate Compliance Policy and Risk Management Plan. Manages data collection for patients served and presents outcome statistics to participating agencies.Coordinates with key community stakeholders to provide multi-system, trauma-informed interventions and participates in community outreach events. Provides education to partners regarding services provided by participating agencies.Develops interagency cooperation with patrol officers and dispatch personnel.Participates in clinical supervision, treatment team meetings, and pursues professional development.Performs other duties as needed. Minimum and Additional Requirements State Requirements:A Master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.Agency Requirements:A Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or social sciences.
