Under limited supervision, will provide mental health counseling and case management services to adults, children and families within the first responder community. Services will be provided in the community.Provides quality person-centered care to individuals and families using evidenced-based clinical interventions.Provides all forms of direct services as credentialed by the Center in an efficient manner.Maintains an annualized average of direct service billable time of at least 405 patient care hours.Responsibilities of the Mental Health Professional I - First Responder Support Team Complies with all DMH/WCMH Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and Cultural Competence, and CARF policies and procedures as well as all Federal and State laws.Maintains competency in evidence-based practices. Attend all trainings classified mandatory by Federal and State regulations and Center policy.Documentation is reflective of the quality care expected of this position.Ensures patient satisfaction is evaluated. Ensures timely response to requests for services.Demonstrates recognition of importance of collaboration and teamwork within the Center and the community. Provide a variety of coordination and consultation services with local community agencies and organizations, other human service providers, and DMH staff to assist clients in maximizing recovery efforts.Working knowledge of Mental Health legal principles and practices, of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling and educational services.Considerable knowledge of psychopathology and patient management in psychiatric setting.Working knowledge of basic health and welfare services provided by other agencies.Ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment and the ability to conduct detailed investigations, draw conclusions and recommend required actions.Guidelines are established in the EPMS with an annual performance review. The employee should be able to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying established objective. Performs other Duties as Required by Supervisor and/or Executive DirectorMinimum and Additional Requirements State Minimum Requirements: A master's degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling or other behavioral discipline deemed equivalent by SCDMH.License requirements -Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC -A), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Individual Social Worker-Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT). Must have at least one licensure. Agency Minimum Requirements:Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling or other behavioral discipline deemed equivalent by SCDMH.License requirements -Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Individual Social Worker-Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT). Must have at least one licensure.Must meet Department of Mental Health Credentialing Requirements which include having completed 3 out of 4 of the following graduate courses:Psychopathology Course Psychopathology Diagnostic Course Clinical Assessment - Practice with Family Therapy (DSM) - or any related assessment course Ethics Course - related to medical professionNote: If any agency requirements are listed above, applicants must meet those requirements to be considered for the position.
