- Our office is located at the Polly Best Center, 916 Reynolds Road, Barnwell, SC 29812.
- This position will primarily deliver services in a School Setting in both Aiken and Barnwell Countys.
Job Purpose
- Under limited supervision, provides an array of behavioral treatment services for patients (adult, children, and families) at ABMHC.
Job Functions
- Provides 820 patient care hours annually.
- Ensures patients are seen in accordance with their needs.
- Completes clinical documentation using collaborative documentation.
- Ensures patient functionality is measured by the DLA-20.
- Participates in clinical supervision, treatment team meetings, pursues professional development, and demonstrates effective use of social and interpersonal knowledge and skills.
- Reviews caseload weekly for timely discharges, engagement, transition, and follow-up.
- Completes documentation according to QA/SCDMH standards, complies with Corporate Compliance policy and Risk Management plan, and ensures timely completion of prior authorizations.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements State Minimum Requirements:
- A Masters' degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences.
- Licensed or working toward licensure in South Carolina.
- Must qualify for credentialing and privileging as a Mental Health Professional in accordance with Quality Assurance standards.
Preferred Qualifications Agency (Facility) Preferences:
- One (1) year of post-graduate experience providing counseling/treatment.
- Licensed in SC or able to obtain licensure within six months.
- Practical therapeutic knowledge of principles, methods and counseling practices and procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral and mental disorders.
- Ability to listen and understand and communicate information and ideas.
- Knowledge of psychopathology, family dynamics, family and group psychotherapy.
- Ability to establish effective relationships.
- Employee will be provided routine scheduled supervision by supervisor and participate in monthly consultation groups.
- Additional supervision provided by Psychiatrist during staff meetings.
- Employee is subject to SCDMH/ABMHC policies/procedures.
- Ability to present clear and comprehensive oral and written reports.
- Ability to lift 5 pounds.
- Operate a state vehicle (as applicable to position).
- This position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies.
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
