Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Specialist to join our team in Philadelphia County. This role involves managing a caseload of participants, providing clinical supervision, and delivering treatment and support services primarily in the community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social sciences or healthcare and experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 10 participants.
- Provide clinical supervision in assessment and treatment planning, supporting the Team Leader.
- Coordinate and monitor activities of the individual treatment team, including home-based visitations and other community services.
- Offer individual supportive therapy, social skill development, and assertiveness training to enhance participants' social and interpersonal activities.
- Ensure services comply with contract and Agency regulations.
- Maintain effective professional relationships and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels of the behavioral health system.
- Establish supportive, trusting relationships with participants while respecting their rights and treatment preferences.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a focused team.
- Utilize Outlook, MS Word, and Excel proficiently.
- Maintain daily productivity standards.
- Handle crisis interventions and respond to emergency situations.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Sciences, Healthcare, or a related field.
- Post-secondary education and training, including internships and supervised practical experiences in a clinical or rehabilitation setting with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
- Experience with fee-for-service and electronic health records is strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel locally and carry a mobile phone during working hours and on-call services.
- Physical capability to lift 25 pounds, and perform activities such as carrying, folding, kneeling, reaching, stacking, stooping, and bending.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
Scope:
- Frequent talking and listening.
- Requires the ability to lift 25 pounds, carry, fold, kneel, reach, stack, stoop and bend which may include direct intervention with participants.
- Possess manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Must be available for local travel and possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must carry a mobile phone during scheduled working hours.
- As essential personnel, may be required to report to work during emergencies including inclement weather.
- Requires crisis intervention and availability to respond in emergency situations.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
**This role will require 75% fieldwork.**
