New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) is a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to citizens of the State of New Mexico. Why does the job exist?To provide direct client services to clientele. Will provide assurance of services for patients and clients. Services will be addressed on an individual, family, and systems level. How does it get done?Provide direct client services for medically and financially eligible clients to attain mutually determined goals; gather, generate and maintain appropriate records and accurate completion of forms for social work intervention, expand, enhance and contribute to the improvement of services of the New Mexico Rehabilitation Facility program; develop and maintain personal skills knowledge and understanding of New Mexico Rehabilitation Facility and related information needed to assure accurate, competent, and professional implementation of the New Mexico Rehabilitation Facility. Who are the customers?Patients in need of Rehabilitation for Chemical Dependency or Medical Rehabilitation. Ideal CandidateThe Ideal Candidate will have experience with case management; good communication skills; and the ability to multi-task. Preferential consideration will be given to a licensed Social Worker in line with the State of New Mexico with LBSW, LMSW or LISW. Minimum QualificationBachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Sciences, Social Work or Counseling and two (2) years of experience in mental health and/or substance abuse counseling. Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. The incumbent may be exposed to mentally and/or behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable potentially violent behavior in volatile situations.
