Job Title: Mental Health Tech / Support StaffLocation: Crownsville, MDDepartment: Teen Residential ProgramSchedule: Full Time | 3 Days Per Week, 12.5 Hour ShiftsCompensation: $18.00-23.50 Per Hour (Dependent on Experience) Position Overview:The Mental Health Technician is a cornerstone of our residential treatment team, ensuring a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for adolescents. As a Tech, you will engage with clients daily, model best practices for the team, and maintain high standards of care aligned with Sandstone Care's mission and values.Key CompetenciesClient Supervision & Support
- Empathy & Active Engagement: Foster a supportive environment by building trust and ensuring clients feel respected, valued, and understood during daily activities.
- Safety Awareness: Vigilantly monitor client interactions to promote safety and adherence to therapeutic goals.
- Facilitation Skills: Lead group sessions and therapeutic exercises, supporting clients in developing coping skills and achieving treatment goals.
Documentation & Compliance
- Detail-Oriented Documentation: Record accurate, timely notes on client behaviors and incidents, adhering to facility and state regulations.
- Ethical Standards: Maintain confidentiality and comply with all state and federal client care guidelines.
Crisis Intervention
- Calm Under Pressure: Respond confidently to crises using approved de-escalation techniques and collaborating with clinical staff as needed.
- Problem-Solving: Assist in creating and implementing client safety plans, demonstrating quick and effective decision-making.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Candidates are required to have a minimum 2 years of college OR 1 year of experience in the human services field
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 years in a behavioral health setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and professional boundaries.
- Skills:
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
