Want to join a team focusing on family systems therapy that makes a difference in the lives of youth and families?We are currently hiring a Mental Health Therapist - Residential (open to individuals on the path to licensure - Clinical Trainee level) for our Nexus-Gerard location in Austin, MNAbout Nexus:Our team of therapists at Nexus-Gerard is specially trained in trauma and stress, and we're committed to helping families stay together, heal, grow, and move forward.Our treatment approach in youth residential helps address behavioral and mental health issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, oppositional behavior, ADHD, borderline personality, bi-polar conditions relational problems, attachment issues, parenting support, family conflict, sexually problematic behaviors, and emotional/physical/sexual abuse.Based on each child's individual and family needs, we use some or all of the following treatment approaches:Psychological and Psychiatric AssessmentsClinical EvaluationsTherapy - Individual, Family, and GroupCounseling - Individual, Family, and GroupPsycho-Education - Individual, Family, and GroupPsychiatric Oversight (to include Medication Management)Experiential Therapy - Sensory, Movement, Sand, Animal Interactions, and PlayResearch-Based Techniques for Trauma Healing - EMDR (Eye Movement De- Sensitization Reprocessing) and/or TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused - Cognitive Based Therapy)Daily Activity and RecreationVocational Skill DevelopmentEducation/School (at the appropriate grade and functional level)Referrals - for Substance Abuse Treatment and/or Speech, Physical, and Occupational TherapiesResponsibilities:Our Residential - Mental Health Therapist will provide therapy services to at-risk youth and their families. Trauma Informed CareCreates and drives a trauma-informed environment; establishing and maintaining a positive treatment culture and making necessary changes to ensure successEngage in and have active involvement of the Family Collaborative Intake meetingsComplete Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) functional assessmentThrough the collaborative effort with family, youth, and providers, develop and monitor the individual treatment plansMilieu CoordinationDevelop and facilitate milieu and treatment groups that are trauma informed, educational, and treatment focusedParticipate in all youth related treatment team meetings, using family centered language and youth driven principalsAssess readiness for discharge in conjunction with the treatment team. Coordinate and recommend therapeutic services for success after dischargeCommunity CareCoordinate/communicate aftercare needs of the client with family and all necessary social service and community providers to ensure a smooth transitionCommunicate with the treatment team to include all desired and necessary family members, educational, legal, community, and social service providersEnsures that all required client reports, records, and all documentation are produced accurately and maintained in a consistent, timely, and professional manner according to policy and regulated statutesEnsure confidentiality regarding mental health, medical issues, background treatment and comply with all HIPAA related requirementsRequired Qualifications:Minimum of Master's or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences, human services, social work, counseling, psychology, family therapy, or related fields.
