Summary:The Mentor is responsible for training newly hired employees within the Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD) Center of Excellence. The Mentor will ensure that they receive support, training, and education necessary for successful employment. The Mentor will demonstrate and role model the mission and core values. The Mentor reports directly to the Mentor Coordinator. This position will work with our IDD programs in Lancaster, Lebanon and York Counties. It will be based out of our Mountville Office. This is a full time (40/hr per week) position.CSG's Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD/ASD) Services is excited to offer a 2 week paid orientation for this position. Orientation includes the necessary foundational training needed before providing services in the programs and sets you up for a successful career at CSG. Orientation is held in-person at our Mountville, Williamsport, and Bethlehem offices. Mileage reimbursement is provided for orientation related travel.
Wage Information:$18.00/hr.
Job Description:- Schedules, trains and supports newly hired and transferred employees on foundational knowledge about the job responsibilities.
- Provides and coordinates specific program training including knowledge about Individuals served and facility teams.
- Provides training to employees after the initial evaluation/introductory period as requested.
- Facilitates communications between employee and supervisor.
- Trains the supervisors or designees on continuing development and growth process.
- Coordinates tracking and notifications to supervisors, on-call staff and others as needed regarding the new employee training.
- Demonstrates flexibility by utilizing a variety of training methods to meet employee's learning needs and works a non-traditional schedule to accommodate the new hires work schedule.
- Assists in the tracking of metrics and participates in staff development assessments.
- Knowledge of individuals and program needs at all sites where new employees will work.
- Knowledge of daily responsibilities in the residential and other work setting for which the employee is assigned.
- Ability to understand and respond to concerns and apprehensions of new and current employees, and address them with dignity, respect, and a manner consistent with CSG's Core Values.
Qualifications:This position requires one of the following combinations of education and experience:A minimum of a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year working experience in IDD or a High School Diploma or equivalency and 3 years working experience in IDD. A candidate in a residential leadership position would also be considered.Additional requirements include:
- Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, or locations where the mentoring occurs.
