We encourage our teams to connect on multiple levels and support each other's personal and professional growth.What you'll doAs a MEP Group Lead, we promote a team environment, so you'll collaborate with fellow engineers, environmental scientists and many others. You'll also:* Design and develop mechanical systems, components and products.* Conduct research and analysis to determine the feasibility, performance and cost-effectiveness of mechanical designs.* Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software.* Perform simulations and calculations to evaluate the structural integrity, thermal performance and mechanical behavior of designs.* Select materials and components based on engineering requirements, cost considerations and manufacturing constraints.* Prototype and test mechanical systems and prototypes to validate performance and functionality.* Assist in business development objectives for the group.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing engineers, to integrate mechanical systems into product development.* Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during product assembly, testing and deployment.* Participate in design reviews, project meetings and client interactions to communicate progress, discuss challenges and propose solutions.* Stay informed on the latest developments and trends in mechanical engineering technology.What it takesIdeally, you'll have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. You should have seven or more years of experience in mechanical engineering design and product development. A Professional Engineer license (PE) is required. Ideally, you'll also:* Have HVAC and Plumbing experience.* Be proficient in CAD software like SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and engineering analysis tools like Finite Element Analysis.* Have a strong grasp of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics and materials science.* Be experienced with prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, CNC machining and rapid prototyping.* Prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.* Be knowledgeable about relevant building codes, regulations and safety standards.* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.* Pay high attention to detail and accuracy.* Hold superior organizational and time management skills.* Perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.* Speak and write well.* Have strong analytical and organizational skills.* Be a team player.What you'll getYou'll have plenty of opportunities to grow professionally at our progressive firm, which started in 1973.
