Gilbane is seeking an MEP Manager to define the MEP execution process, oversees all MEP staff and work on construction projects. The MEP Manager may be the Project Manager on projects that are predominantly MEP. This role will sit primarily on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for trainings, meetings, etc. Who are we? Responsibilities Perform system (MEP, Fire Alarm, Low Voltage, Sprinkler, Food Service, Elevator) constructability (IDC+), Value Engineering, and coordination review of contract documents
Create a project specific system quality plan and verify its proper execution Define best approach for system buyout Assist with the preparation of the GMP Supervise system subcontracting strategies and originate scopes or work for system bid packages and equipment Provide guidance and approve the system contractors schedule of values Develop and/or approve all system commissioning schedules Ensure timely and proper execution of the MEP coordination process (BIM) Review and confirm pricing and change order accuracy with contractors and equipment manufacturers prior to submission or acceptance Perform site inspections for system compliance with contract documents Coordinate with non-MEP subcontractors to ensure accurate installation sequencing Oversee the full commissioning process, from early engagement during the design process through final acceptance, which includes establishment and implementation of controls to identify and correct negative trends Effectively coordinate between owner, engineers, consultants, end-users, and subcontractors toward a common goal Communicate with owner's representative on a regular basis to understand expectations and ensure customer satisfaction Qualifications EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION BS OR MS degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or construction management 10+ years in a supervisory role of MEP trades on 50-100+ million construction projects Or equivalent combination of education and experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Ability to manage a large and complex project that is predominately MEP Ability to manage and mentor less experienced staff members Ability to manage mutliple projects at the same time Strong time management skills, ability to understand immediate needs versus projected needs Strong leadership and public-speaking skills Strong scheduling skills and proficiency in P6, Excel, and Bluebeam Demonstrate strong risk management skills Must be able to create an environment where safety first is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitude OSHA 30 hour certifiedSalary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Baltimore, MD this ranges from $128,700.00 - $177,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
