MEP Project Manager opportunity with a top 10 ENR ranked GC!
In this role, you will have an opportunity to work across Mission Critical, Airport and Healthcare project types for one of the most respected GCs in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Scrutinize contract documents for constructability, code compliance, and functional requirements.
- Lead MEP trade coordination meetings and oversee the 3D modeling process. Manage the review and approval of drawing submittals.
- Guide and monitor on-site MEP installation and coordination.
- Manage material submittals, tracking, and procurement, ensuring compliance with contract documents.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain the MEP project schedule in collaboration with the field team.
- Review field installations to verify adherence to design intent and construction standards.
- Oversee the testing and commissioning of MEP systems.
- Review and advise on MEP-related requisitions and contract changes. Manage the delivery of MEP closeout documentation.
- Foster a culture of learning and growth through training and development initiatives.
- Understand industry labor rates and factors to evaluate proposals and change orders.
- Provide leadership to promote a diverse, inclusive, and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection/Life Safety Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
- 5+ years of construction experience, managing MEP trades, preferably with a general contractor.
- Experience leading teams and working with MEP design review, drawing supervision, submittal review, field inspections, and testing & commissioning.
- Experience on large-scale construction projects, with MEP trade expertise to align teams towards project goals.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven leadership skills in attracting, developing, and engaging diverse talent. Fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture based on trust and respect.
- Proactive risk mitigation to minimize change order exposures.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes during various construction phases.
