**Merchandise and Inventory Management Planner**

As a **Merchandise and Inventory Management Planner** you will be responsible for forecasting demand and managing supply for wholesale and retail customers. It will be critical to communicate effectively with other product planners to provide a comprehensive demand and supply plan to ensure all customers have adequate inventory to meet and exceed sales goals. At the same time, this position will also track and mitigate customer returns to optimize net revenue and minimize overstocks.

This role will work closely with the trade sales team, new business development team, and outside manufacturing and warehousing partners.

+ Responsible for the creating a demand forecast for specified customers/channels leveraging a broad array of quantitative and qualitative inputs

+ Monitor forecast vs actuals and provide analysis on hits, misses, and trends

+ Analyze customer inventory needs based on current inventory ownership and provide accurate forecast for supply needs

+ In conjunction with the Product Strategy Team, serve as the analytical lead for your product portfolio, from informing publication dates to identifying strengths and weaknesses in the assortment at the title/sku level.

+ Work closely with the sales team to identify sales opportunities and inventory issues

+ Close and constant communication with 3PL partners to make sure customer orders are fulfilled within target turnaround times

+ Monitor customer returns and work to mitigate returns by ensuring customers have appropriate level of inventory on hand

**Qualifications**

+ 3-5 years experience in planning and/or inventory management

+ Bachelor's Degree in Business and/or a related field

+ Knowledge of the publishing industry preferred

+ Strong analysis and problem-solving skills

+ Strong team player with ability to take on a leadership role as needed

+ Proficient in MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.) and other MS Office applications

+ Experience with Tableau a huge plus
