This role involves managing the design team, developing competitive product lines, and ensuring collections meet the unique demands of value-conscious consumers shopping at retailers like TJX, Burlington, and Ross.The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of the off-price market, strong vendor relationships, and the ability to balance creativity with cost efficiency to deliver trend-right, high-margin products.Key ResponsibilitiesLine Development and StrategyDevelop and execute product strategies tailored to the off-price market, focusing on competitive pricing, high turnover, and customer appeal.Work with the design team to create collections that are on-trend, cost-effective, and meet specific retailer requirements.Analyze market data and retailer feedback to refine product assortments and identify opportunities for growth.Curate product offerings for optimal placement across off-price retail channels.Team Leadership and CollaborationManage and mentor the design team, ensuring collections align with brand objectives and market demands.Collaborate with sales, production, and marketing teams to streamline the product lifecycle and meet retailer timelines.Provide direction on fabric sourcing, trims, and design concepts to balance quality and cost.Vendor and Supplier RelationsCultivate strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers to source materials and products at the best possible prices.Oversee negotiations with vendors to secure favorable terms, maintain quality, and meet tight deadlines.Ensure vendor compliance with production standards and timelines.Market and Trend AnalysisMonitor trends in ladies' apparel, focusing on styles and materials that resonate with off-price consumers.Stay informed about competitor activity and identify gaps in the market to capitalize on emerging opportunities.Use insights from trend forecasting tools, customer data, and retailer feedback to inform product development.Performance Evaluation and ReportingReview sales performance and inventory data to identify best-sellers, underperforming styles, and key areas for improvement.Prepare and present reports on product success, pricing strategies, and margin performance to senior leadership.Recommend adjustments to assortments based on retailer feedback and seasonal performance.QualificationsEducation: Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Design, Business, or a related field.Experience: Strong understanding of the off-price business model, including pricing structures, margins, and retail partnerships.[5+ years] of experience in merchandising or product development for the off-price retail market, with a focus on ladies' apparel.Proven track record of managing design teams and delivering collections tailored to value-conscious consumers.Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.Experience with apparel production, including fabric sourcing, garment construction, and cost optimization.Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Preferred SkillsEstablished relationships with vendors and factories specializing in off-price production.Knowledge of compliance requirements for large-scale retailers like TJX, Burlington, and Ross.Familiarity with trend forecasting tools (e.g., WGSN) and inventory management systems.What We OfferCompetitive salary and performance-based incentives.Opportunity to lead the development of impactful, high-turnover collections.A collaborative work environment that encourages innovation.#J-18808-Ljbffr
