Shift Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: This position ensures that Reddy Ice merchandisers are well-maintained and functioning properly throughout the entire market in coordination with FESM. It assists the FESM in nontraditional markets. Demonstrates our True North attributes: voice of the customer, respect for the individual, no nonsense communication and utilization of facts, servant leadership and has a continuous improvement mindset in every facet of leadership and daily interaction. Leads, collaborates and demonstrates the lean principles and utilizes the lean methodologies and tools to facilitate continuous process improvements and value creation for our customers, employees and shareholders. Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Performs service, repairs, installations, and removals on Ice Factory Systems, Ice Breaker and Satellite boxes. 2. Trains and mentors MST's and RMs in coordination with the managers direction. 3. Assigns service and routing in coordination with the manager direction. 4. Performs machine audits as assigned by management, inspects machinery for proper working condition, system cleanliness, and exterior aesthetics. 5. Tests machines as assigned to confirm compliance with all federal, state, and local water/ice quality regulations. 6. Cleans machine exteriors and performs complete PM sanitation of machines at on-site locations, trains MST's on PM sanitation of machines. 7. Regularly attends company sponsored MST training and serve as lead trainer with Field Project Manager. 8. Maintains inventory on truck, and communicates spare parts requirements. Assists manager in ordering parts and managing base location inventory levels of fleet and warehouse. 9. Drives a Customer Centric Culture by engaging in respectful, consistent communication with customers while striving to promote outstanding customer service. 10. Communicates opportunities for SOP improvement to the FESM. Contributes to peer discussions regarding equipment maintenance and cleanliness best practices via conference calls, and through other technology. 11. Displays a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, managers, and the general public at all times. This includes, operating company vehicle safely and in accordance with all applicable laws of the road, reporting to the assigned job site in uniform and ready to begin work at the designated start time, immediately reporting any accidents/injuries, and strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Policies, Programs & Procedures Manual. 12. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or managers with other duties as required. 13. Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management. 14. Adhering to the Code of Business Ethics and individual store policy and procedure is essential. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - Minimum of 5 years repair experience in maintenance, electrical, plumbing, or refrigeration trade. Preferred ice business experience or related food production industry.
- Must have valid driver's license (operator's/Class C) and good driving record - will be required to use company vehicle at times. Assist in maintaining company vehicle to the scheduled maintenance requirements.
- Desire and willingness to learn additional trade skills as directed by company.
- Maintain internal company testing requirements above 80% level for all company training courses.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
- EPA minimum level in refrigeration required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate travel with potential for overnight. Weekend and night work is a requirement of the position. May perform work in retail stores; driving between retail stores and plant location. Must be able to lift 60lbs. plus utilize installation lift equipment. Ability to climb ladders and work with light duty tools.
