WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Merchandising Assistant

POSITION SCOPE:

The Merchandising Assistant will support the Director of Merchandising and Wholesale, as well as the Merchandise Planner, in developing a comprehensive understanding of the FoundRae product architecture in conjunction with the competitive luxury and jewelry landscape, systems, analytics, and project management. This role will provide exposure to all aspects of merchandising, from product assortment to go-to-market processes, working cross functionally with all departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Assortment Strategy:

  • Gain a deep understanding of the product catalog and use this knowledge to influence launch assortment strategies.
  • Work with the Director of Merchandising to ensure product assortments are aligned with market demands, trends, and customer preferences.

SKU Management & Data Integrity:

  • Manage the seasonal and ad-hoc creation of SKUs in the ERP system.
  • Ensure seamless integration of product data into Shopify for e-commerce launches.
  • Own merchandising's portion of the e-commerce launch process, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Maintain product data integrity, ensuring all product details and attributes are accurate in the ERP.

Competitive Analysis & Market Insights:

  • Learn the competitive landscape; conduct regular competitive analysis monitor pricing, product offerings, and trends in the luxury jewelry space.
  • Use insights to recommend pricing strategies, new product launches, and potential business opportunities.

Sales & Performance Reporting:

  • Own and update the sales and product performance recaps on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Work closely with wholesale to compile and analyze selling reports and provide accounts with assortment insights specific to their businesss.
  • Partner with the Merchandise Planner to analyze sales performance and put together monthly and quarterly product selling and analyze findings.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Management:

  • Maintain all line sheets, tools and informational decks for cross-functional teams ease and use to navigate the line.
  • Support the Merchandising and Planning team in ad-hoc and special projects as requested.
  • Support a team-oriented, innovative and entrepreneurial, results-oriented environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 0-2 years experience in merchandising/buying/planning/finance team. Previous internships a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required
  • Experience with luxury jewelry, fashion and retail a strong plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced Excel (V-lookups, pivot tables, macros, etc) - VBA and/or Tableau/Power BI a big plus!
  • Previous experience with ERP software a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management and follow through skills
  • Results oriented, self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Strong ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with different teams

The appointed candidate will be offered an hourly rate between $26.00 - $28.00 as well as the opportunity for variable compensation opportunities including commission and bonus, a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks and retirement plan.
