Job DetailsJob LocationMinit Stop Holdings LLC Headquarters - Kahului, HISalary Range$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 Salary/yearDescriptionJob SummaryAs the Merchandising Manager for Minit Stop Convenience Stores, your role involves overseeing the continuous flow of product procurement, retail space placement, and supply chain control of items used for retail and food service in all Minit Stop C-Stores locations.In this role, you are in charge of ensuring all Minit Stop retail outlets are properly supplied with products to properly service our customers with their convenience needs. Suitability for PositionTo be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate an in depth understanding of supply chain management from procurement of items needed in the day-to-day running of Minit Stop C-Stores, an understanding of Category Management, to the timely and routine delivery of goods through strong vendor relationships. This position requires computer proficiency and ability to work with merchandising software, and a professional level of financial literacy to understand and maximize optimization of company profitability through varying market changes.QualificationsGeneral Requirements
  • Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred as well as an Associates Degree or equivalent work experience of two (2) years in a Merchandising/Buying or Marketing role.
  • Retail procurement and product placement experience, as well as retail Food Service experience is preferred.
  • Applicants must have a professional understanding of financial statements and the ability to talk to profit and loss information.
  • A valid Type 3 Drivers License and reliable transportation is required.
  • Applicants must be able to obtain a TB Clearance and Liquor cards for any county that Minit Stop operates in.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Monitor price book activity, changes, adjustments, and updates as they occur to maintain accurate pricing and scheduling.
  • Possess the ability to understand sales trends/history and utilize knowledge to implement strategy for product acquisition/placement.
  • Be able to discuss both at a high level and in depth, the intricacies of procurement and merchandising operations whenever required.
  • Manage vendor relationships with current and potential future vendors and take the lead in ensuring proper supply, operational execution and timely invoicing.
  • Oversee all invoicing issues with vendors to ensure favorable resolutions are achieved.
  • Continuously seek new vendor opportunities to ensure competitive rates for all products sourced are maintained, and profitability potential is maximized.
  • Provide merchandise and sales analysis for projection purposes including being able to explain data in depth for monthly and annual budgeting process.
  • Create and manage merchandise sales programs for all Minit Stop retail locations and monitor the supply program using budgeted sales and gross profit projections for reference.
  • Remain active in analyzing the competitive landscape of our business along with being able to navigate swift changes in merchandising approach where needed.
  • Oversee product procurement from all vendor resources including enforcing the uniform placement of products in retail outlets to maximize consistent resale by schematic or designated store set.
  • Initiate negotiations on all costs associated with products that are procured for retail outlets with vendors ensuring Minit Stop maximize profitability wherever possible.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of sales and merchandising plans both unified, and independent at the store level to meet needs of each location.
  • Partnering with the Food Service Manager, assist in strategy, direction and sourcing development for new food components, implementation, and merchandising.
  • Working with the Minit Stop Marketing Specialist, assist with the advertisement, forecasting and execution or promotional campaigns.
  • Develop and manage monthly promotional calendars for merchandise sales to stimulate product movement, recognition, and overall sales volume at the retail level.
  • Working with the Facilities team, assist with the design and development of all store location layouts for new builds, remodels and restructuring of Minit Stop retail spaces.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of promotional and charity driven efforts including public, non-profit and community events
  • Complies with all the Company Rules of Conduct, polices, and procedures.
  • Participates in Company required and sponsored training.
  • Remains compliant with all Federal, State, Local and Company safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Follow, report on, and be able to talk to local and national legislative bills, rules and proposals including trade group information and compliance.
  • Maintains regular attendance ensuring that qualified absences related to the State and Federal Family Medical Leave Act are coordinated with Human Resources.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
