The Merchandising Manager for Kathy Kuo Home will oversee product selection, development, and category expansion in lighting, rugs, and decor accessories. This role requires a balance of analytical and creative skills to ensure that product assortments align with customer needs, industry trends, and Kathy Kuo Home's brand standards. The ideal candidate has a sharp sense of style, is detail-oriented, and has a proven track record in driving sales and profitability through compelling product offerings. Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Strategy and Planning
    • Define and execute category strategies that align with Kathy Kuo Home's brand and business goals.
    • Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify product opportunities and gaps.
    • Develop a merchandise assortment plan that meets customer demand, seasonal needs, and brand positioning.
  • Product Development and Sourcing
    • Collaborate with suppliers and internal design teams to develop unique and high-quality products.
    • Oversee product selection, ensuring each item aligns with KKH quality and design standards.
    • Negotiate terms with vendors to secure favorable pricing and enhance product value.
  • Inventory Management and Forecasting
    • Monitor stock levels, sales trends, and reordering points to optimize inventory.
    • Partner with supply chain teams to manage product flow and ensure timely delivery.
    • Use demand forecasting to inform purchasing decisions and maintain inventory balance.
  • Sales and Performance Analysis
    • Analyze sales data and key performance indicators to evaluate product performance, customer preferences, and profitability.
    • Identify underperforming products and implement strategies to improve performance or phase them out.
    • Develop promotional and pricing strategies to maximize revenue and customer engagement.
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership
    • Work closely with the marketing and e-commerce teams to develop product presentations and visual merchandising strategies.
    • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to coordinate on launches, promotions, and seasonal collections.
    • Provide training and mentorship to team members on product knowledge and merchandising practices.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
    • 7+years of merchandising experience, preferably in lighting, rugs, or home decor accessories.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and merchandising software; experience with ERP or PLM systems is a plus.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • A keen eye for design trends, aesthetics, and customer preferences in the home decor space.
