Job Title: Metal FabricatorJob DescriptionCandidates will operate steel beam and steel plate cutting equipment for punching holes, cutting designs, or cutting to size per customer orders. Candidates must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints for very large products, operate CNC equipment and manipulate programs on HMI, read a tape measure and other measuring equipment, and operate an overhead crane for material transport. Experience with turn-style CNC mills, burn tables, or similar equipment is preferred. Training on saw operations, steel bending, and other large steel fabrication machinery may be provided. Candidates must work well with a trainer and on a team, as safety and communication in the facility are crucial to their safety and success. Additionally, candidates must be able to learn and retain information based on color, as the inventory and coding system relies on painted beam ends. Clear color vision and the ability to memorize locations and color systems are essential.
Responsibilities- Operate steel beam and steel plate cutting equipment for various tasks.
- Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
- Operate CNC equipment and manipulate programs on HMI.
- Use measuring tools such as tape measures accurately.
- Operate overhead cranes for material transport.
- Possibly train on saw operations, steel bending, and other machinery.
- Work collaboratively with trainers and team members.
- Learn and retain information based on color-coded inventory systems.
Essential Skills- Experience in heavy industry and construction.
- 3-5 years of CNC operating experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools and tape measures.
- Overhead crane operation experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with most lifting assisted by cranes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Heavy industrial or construction experience.
- Familiarity with large CNC operations.
- Forklift and bobcat operation experience.
- Experience with various heavy equipment such as band saws and plasma cutters.
- Ability to work in varying conditions, both inside and outside.
