Compensation: $16.00 per hour Alliance Industrial Solutions has partnered with a local metal fabrication company and we are looking for Metal Grinders/Finishers.Shift: 5:30am-4pm Mon-ThuPay: $16/hr Job Overview: A Metal Grinder/Finisher, I'm responsible for precision grinding and finishing of metal components. Operate various machines and power tools, following detailed blueprints to transform metal parts into finished products that meet exact specifications. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operate various finishing equipment including polishers, sanding instruments, polishing wheels, buffing wheels, and straight lining machines
- Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and job packets, understanding dimensions and tolerances for both new and repeat jobs
- Perform grinding and finishing operations on various materials including stainless steel, aluminum, and cold steel with guidance from grinding lead or fabrication supervisor
- Set up machines according to required procedures using appropriate tooling
- Conduct quality checks according to company standards and maintain inspection documentation
- Identify and report discrepancies to supervision immediately
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and organize parts in designated areas
- Document process improvements and mark prints for required changes on production/repeat jobs
- Clock in/out of jobs accurately using Epicor time system
- Assist in other departments as needed
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and emerging technologies
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience with precision measuring instruments
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of inspection procedures
- Ability to analyze blueprints and drawings
- Experience with various metals and their properties
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- Strong team collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain consistent quality and production levels
- Basic computer skills for documentation
Working Conditions:
- Some heavy lifting - maximum of 50 pounds, if more you must do two-man lifting
