The Metal Superintendents main function is to run projects and crews in a safe, efficient, and
organized manner. This includes planning, coordinating, problem solving, scheduling equipment and manpower,
and supervising quality installation details while enforcing Safety protocols on all metal projects for the company.
Essential Functions as follows:
Managing New Projects:
* Receives, logs, verifies, and tracks new projects from the time of release through final installation.
* Review work orders against scope of work, budgets, and submittals to make sure all required information
has been provided and complies with what the Builder/Owner/Property Manager has set forth.
* Effectively communicates directly with Project Manager(s) regarding all facets of the project.
o Labor & Material budget, scheduling, on-site issues, change orders etc.
* Communicate with the Metal Shop Coordinator regarding materials needed and project timeline to ensure
the construction schedules of the customers are met.
* Manage material deliveries, schedules, staging and phasing.
* Attend Mandatory Jobsite Meetings, as required.
* Perform Closeout Inspections, documenting work completed and identifying punch list items.
* Track equipment in the field, assist with safety equipment inspections, incident response, and reporting.
* Track and report work progress and percentage of completion on multiple projects.
* Manage job profit gain/fade by identifying and adapting for unforeseen production issues.
* Assist leadership team in identifying excellent and poor performance in the field.
* Performing pre-sites prior to fabrication to verify what was bid matches what was built. Verifying measurements
and quantities prior to fabrication and mobilization of crews increases efficiency in costs but also gives the crew
the opportunity to perform their work without disruption which increases their earning potential.
Supervising the Roofing Professionals performing the work:
* Ensure that everything needed to complete the job has been received/fabricated PRIOR to sending crew(s)
to jobsite.
* Conduct a Pre-Construction Meeting with the Foreman (and crew) PRIOR to starting the project; this effort
minimizes issues and misunderstandings, maximizing the crews time which enables them to increase
productivity and thus increase their income.
* Set and track daily goals and standards for each project/crew.
* Conduct Daily project inspections to ensure work complies with TORC and Manufacturer standards.
* Create daily/weekly reports showing project progress, schedule adherence, and safety needs/issues.
* Foster a positive and respectful relationship with the Metal Shop Crew(s).
* Provide operational direction, leadership, and accountability in the field and office.
* Provide safety direction and coordinate training for field and management staff as necessary.

* Coming up with, and presenting, ideas of how we can become more efficient both in the Metal Shop, Project
Managing and in the Field.
* Identify and help resolve a variety of challenges and/or conflicts.

* Establish and effectively communicate with Customers, General Superintendent, Project Managers, Metal
Shop Coordinator, Purchasing Department, and Accounting.
Competencies
1. Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
2. Roofing & sheet metal experience, with knowledge of all low slope and steep slope roofing and siding systems.
3. Must have OSHA 30 Certificate
4. Knowledge of OSHA guidelines, safety setup, and toolbox talks.
5. Must be able to pass background check for military bases & prisons.
6. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
7. Focused on Detail, organized and results driven.
8. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work unsupervised.
9. Maintains a professional demeanor when dealing with stressful situations or difficult personalities.
10. Teamwork Oriented.
11. Leadership qualities, coach and motivator.
12. Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

Work Environment - While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in an office environment 15%
of the time with moderate temperature and noise levels, 85% will be at jobsites where temperatures can exceed
110 degrees and noise level is elevated

Physical Demands:
A certain degree of physical fitness is required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Must be able to walk for long periods of time and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Must be able to carry and climb ladders as needed.
Must be able to endure outdoor elements such as extreme heat and cold that is common in the valley.
Must be comfortable with heights.
Must be able to maintain balance while walking on sloped surfaces.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: - This is a full-time hourly position. Days and hours of work are Monday
through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 40+ hours per week but with a rotating Saturday shift approximately once
every three months (for additional pay).
Travel - Travel - Out of town Travel may be required when visiting job sites, attending corporate meetings, and
training.
Preferred Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED, college an advantage but not required.
Bi-Lingual preferred (English/Spanish)
