Job Description:

Acuren Inspection is currently recruiting for a Metallographer to support our operations in Richburg, SC. The successful candidate will be performing routine metallographic evaluation of prepared metallic specimens in accordance with client requirements and internal procedures.

  • Apply criteria expressed in material and process specifications to the evaluation of suitably prepared metallurgical specimens and generate reports.
  • Assist in the coordination of work flow through the department and scheduling to meet client needs.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to metallographic preparation technicians and assist with specimen preparation as required from time to time.
  • Conduct various corrosion susceptibility tests.
  • Interact with clients periodically to review work instructions and evaluation results.
  • Perform other duties as may be required from time to time.
  • Associates degree or two years of post-high school studies in relevant technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years in materials laboratory setting or materials-related field. Aerospace industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed technical specifications and drawings
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills including correct basic grammar, spelling, punctuation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Keyboarding proficiency (40 wpm preferred).
  • Ability to safely carry out oral and written work instructions.
