The Meter Repair Technician will perform electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning products running through configuration and test processes. This candidate will also be responsible for understanding basic challenges faced in the customer returns area. With training the candidate will be expected to help resolve basic repetitive issues to ensure customer returns processes maintain efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
* Troubleshoot and repair product failures due to manufacturing defects or component failure.
* Maintain a functioning line of communication with production (including internal vendors), supervision, leaders, R & D, departmental engineers, maintenance techs, and QC to resolve any reoccurring problems/defects.
* Enter and maintain all defects tracking data at meter level.
* Monitor area test yields and take proactive approach to investigating and resolving problems.
* Report test equipment problems to Supervisor, leader and equipment support techs.
* Keep failure backlog turned around daily to ensure department runs efficiently.
* Assist in the construction and implementation of new equipment for development or production use.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Working knowledge of electronic test equipment i.e Voltage Meter, Current Meter, Oscilloscope.
* Ability to use schematics to troubleshoot electronic devices
* Strong understanding of electronic circuits and components
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Working knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge)
* Fundamental computer skills in Windows and basic file editing are a plus.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
* Related experience as a Technician in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience is required.
