Job Description:
Job Summary: The Meter Room Team Lead I is responsible for supporting the Meter Room Supervisor or Team Lead II in the day-to-day work associated with the meter room. The Team Lead I will be responsible for the output of the meter room production, mentoring other meter room clerks, training, and quality control. Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Assist the supervisor with meter room operations and ensure procedures are followed and carried out effectively, appropriately, and in the most cost-effective way.
  • Assist the supervisor with checking and submitting balances of each meter machine prior to shift start.
  • Manual handling and inspection of packages to ensure labeling is to USPS standards.
  • Ensure packages are processed to meet all customer deadlines.
  • Promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
  • Print the end-of-day report and create logs for billing.
  • Quality control includes ensuring that certified mail is accurately labeled according to the proper destination prior to leaving the department.
  • Ensure work area is free of hazards and clean of debris.
  • Follows all required safety procedures and communicates all concerns regarding safety to department manager.
  • Provide reporting for daily activities to management and billing.
  • Assist in developing meter room operators.
  • Work with other departments to ensure job schedules are maintained and customer expectations are exceeded.
  • General warehouse and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma.
  • Familiar with Microsoft word.
  • Experience in mail processing is a plus.
  • Prior warehouse type setting experience a plus.
