Description of Metering Specialist II Responsibilities
The Metering Specialist II is responsible for surveying, scoping, and commissioning meters to support M&V and Thermal Services.
Specific Responsibilities of Metering Specialist II
- Develops list of meters needed for M&V daily score cards and Thermal Services.
- Performs onsite survey of utility meters and thermal service metering locations to collect information.
- Develop a metering scope of work that includes schematic drawings, 1-lines, and schedule of parts.
- Coordinate with Utility Providers to use their existing meter pulse outputs.
- Coordinate with owner IT networking team to provide data drops for metering.
- Work with MEP design engineers to include scope of work into stamped construction drawings.
- Review contractor submittals to ensure metering scope is being accounted for.
- Coordinate with contractors and commissioning teams to fully start up and test the meters.
- Review field calibration reports.
- Work with our Data Delivery team to integrate metering points into our analytics software platform.
- QC final data integration and provide a green light that data is valid and ready for use.
- Manage ongoing communication between clients, stakeholders, and internal resources.
- Take ownership for spearheading metering from concept through execution.
- Take ownership of the needs of the metering team and calibrate efforts of the team to meet changing requirements.
- Research metering technologies, cut sheets, and technical information and apply to projects.
- Perform the assigned duties with minimal supervision, while working in a team problem-solving environment.
- Handles advanced issues and problems and assists other team members with more complex issues.

This position is Full-Time, Non-Exempt, and reports to the Director of Measurement &Verification.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in related field.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft applications.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter.
- Ability to work as part of a team and provide leadership.
- Computer skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Highly organized.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
- Experience with building control systems, BACnet, Modbus, utility meters, IT networking, Obvius Devices, Badger MAG Flow Meter, Shark Meters, Electric Gear Metering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Math, Business, Economics, or a related field.
Travel Requirements
- Expected to travel 20% of the time to job sites to survey meters.

- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
- Climbing stairs.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
