Job Duties
* Manages the goals and objectives of curriculum implementation
* Documents results and recommends changes and improvements based on research and evaluation data
* Maintains GaDOE curriculum standards, sets performance goals and objectives
* Evaluates curricula, teaching methods and programs to determine their effectiveness, efficiency, and utilization to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
* Conducts local school needs assessments to coordinate and execute effective staff development and technical assistance to support curriculum implementation level throughout the school year
* Provide professional leadership in organizing, administering, supervising, and evaluating the effective operation of the division
* Works with district and other GaDOE staff to develop strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching practices and academic performance measures
* Works with director of assessment to coordinate division assessment program
* Travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualification possess one or more of the following:
* Content area endorsement(s) per Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC)
* Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
* Proficient in Braille instruction
* Specialist or PhD/EdD in content area, leadership, or curriculum
* Experience in curriculum development and implementation
Master's degree in education, administration, public administration or a related administrative field in the area of assignment from an accredited college or university AND L-5 certification AND Two years of program management experience in an educational setting.
