- The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for providing support and monitoring the billing practices and process for optimization for all Departmental Revenue Cycle activities. They will work with both operations and the patient accounting department to solve difficult payment and associated business office problems including claims processing and billing issues across the revenue cycle as well as escalated patient complaints and audits problem accounts.
- Areas of oversight include but are not limited to practice revenue cycle operations including pre-registration, documentation, coding, charging, and billing and collections practices. This position is responsible for direct management of Departmental Revenue Cycle functions in an effort to maximize the performance and integrity of the revenue cycle process. They will assist in the planning of improvement initiatives and the implementation process and aid in improvements with departmental leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Partakes in process to aid in establishing strategic objectives and performance measures used to gauge progress
- Drive Revenue Cycle optimization across offices, practices, and functions
- Participates in the hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training processes of revenue cycle personnel
- Examines current physician practice processes to ensure continued compliance with changing guidelines and best practices, and modifies policies and procedures as necessary
- Keeps clinic leadership apprised of physician practice and staff performance through periodic reports and scheduled meetings
- Works directly with executive staff, and serves as liaison between frontline staff and leadership and delegates duties and projects to appropriate staff, and monitors for accurate and prompt completion
Credentials:
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (Preferred)
- AAHAM Revenue Cycle Certification or AAPC, AHIMA, or RCCB Coding Certification (Preferred)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years Hospital or Practice Revenue Cycle Setting, including previous supervisory/management experience (Required) OR
- Associate's degree and 7+ years Hospital or Practice Revenue Cycle Setting including previous supervisory/management experience (Required)
