Thank you for your interest in employment with Louisiana Tech University. The Department of Health Informatics and Information Management is currently seeking applications for a Master of Health Informatics Program Director/Assistant Professor. This is a full-time, on campus, nine-month, tenure-track position with an anticipated hire date of March 1, 2025. Louisiana Tech University is a four-year selective admissions research university awarding bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Louisiana Tech has an enrollment of approximately 12,000 students and is in Ruston, Louisiana.The Health Informatics and Information Management Department is within the College of Applied and Natural Sciences and has six full-time and three adjunct faculty members. Degrees offered within the department include a Master of Health Informatics (MHI) and Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics and Information Management. The department also offers a graduate certificate in health informatics and an undergraduate certificate in rural health administrative support. Both programs are accredited by CAHIIM. The MHI program is taught in an online format where the undergraduate program is taught in a traditional on campus and online format.Job Duties: The responsibilities of the position include the leadership and oversight of the MHI program as well as course development and instruction in an online format within the graduate programs. The program director and faculty member will also be responsible for engaging in scholarly activity to include pursuing external funding; performing service activities for the profession, university, department, and community; leading recruitment and marketing of the graduate program; advising graduate students; leading the CAHIIM accreditation review and yearly documentation submission process; and contributing to all departmental initiatives and goals.Position Qualifications:The requirements for this position include a doctoral degree in a field closely associated with health informatics and possess strong leadership and communication skills. Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in the Health Informatics and Information Management field and higher education.
