Please note this position is school based in Georgetown County and does require employee to be located on school property. Please note this position requires a master's degree in guidance, counseling or social sciences, and evidence of one year of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This can include an internship, practicum and previous work experience where one has worked with patients.This position MAY be eligible for SCDMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.As a mental health professional working under general supervision, provides therapeutic services, particularly for children and adolescents in the Georgetown School District. Works with students, families, teachers and other necessary parties to provide mental health counseling, crisis intervention and treatment programs for students. Provides counseling to individuals dealing with situations encompassing interpersonal, health and psychosocial factors. Additional supervision will be provided by the clinic director as needed. Maintains documentation of charts and other records in accordance with State, Federal, Local, SCDMH, WCMH, Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and CARF standards.Assists clients in gaining appropriate services involving consulting with local agencies, organizations and human service providers. Provides after hour on call and emergency services coverage as needed and directed by Clinical Director. The expectation is that the employee will provide counseling services to clients on a full-time basis (37.5 hours weekly) maintaining an average billing time of 67.5 hours monthly direct service hours or 810 annualized hours.Develops treatment plans in coordination with patient, parent and/or guardian and teachers. Thorough knowledge of the range and scope of services provided in a comprehensive mental health program servicing chronically mentally ill, and families and the unique treatment needs of this special population. Ability to integrate and coordinate services with those of other disciplines and to communicate effectively.The employee will be able to perform case management, interviewing and assessment skills.Employee is expected to participate in on-going in-service training and other educational opportunities in order to maintain and/or acquire necessary skills. Being self directed and motivated, functionaing independently and exercising good clinical judgement is a must in order to be successful in this position. Employee is evaluated on annual basis through EPMS (Employee Performance Management System).Job does require walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting up to 20 pounds.Performs other duties as assigned by Clinic Director and Executive Director.
