Miami-Cass REMC Broadband Fiber InstallerFull-timeMiami-Cass REMC is a not-for-profit electric utility owned by the consumer-members who use the electricity and other services it provides. We are headquartered in Peru, Indiana (just north of US 24 on US 31) and serve Miami, Cass, and part of Wabashcounties. We serve more than 6,000 homes, farms, and businesses in this area with more than 750 miles of electric power lines. Our mission is to provide our member/owners with cost-effective energy and related services while operating in a manner that positively impacts our community.POSITION PURPOSEInstall and repair broadband services in homes and businesses. Provide product usage training to customers.ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform in a satisfactory manner the functions listed below. The company will make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.Install, or when necessary, disconnect broadband equipment. Be proficient in setup and maintenance of systems, operation of all equipment, installing and programming of equipment, operation of company vehicles, and safe and proper usage of portable ladders and safety fall protection equipment.Provide onsite assistance to customers after installation is complete.Use interpersonal skills for all interaction with customers.Ability to be on-call after hours and weekends in a rotation with other installers.Complete all related forms, work orders, reports, and timesheets.Troubleshoot and repair wiring and connections.Mechanical aptitude to operate various tools, shop, and yard equipment and the ability to perform proper maintenance of each.Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage tasks and time effectively.Ability to work overtime if necessary.Participate in safety meetings and training.Assist Company in other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCETo perform this job successfully, an individual should have an equivalent of the following education and/or experience.High school diploma or GED is preferred.WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe environmental and physical demands described here are representative of those an individual must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
