EXERCISE PROFESSIONALS

The Olson Group, Ltd. (OGL) is seeking experienced senior- and mid-level professionals to support HSEEP projects, including discussion-based (seminars, workshops, tabletop) and operations-based (drills, functional, full-scale) exercises for local-, regional-, state-, and federal-level public sector, as well as private sector, clients.

Primary Duties:

Senior-level Exercise Planner/Manager:

o Serve as Project Manager and/or Lead Planner on OGL exercise projects, at times supporting multiple projects concurrently; lead teams of 3-5 OGL and/or external subcontractor employees throughout entire project; and effectively manage project budget and staffing levels.

o Lead development and conduct of discussion- and operations-based exercises addressing the full range of preparedness concerns.

o Respond promptly to OGL clients and corporate support requests, at times outside of standard business hours.

o Provide thorough quality control (QC) of support staffs work products and deliverables.

o Mentor and support professional development of mid- and junior-level OGL exercise personnel.

o Lead design and execution of in-depth planning-related research, data collection, and analysis efforts.

o Support development of exercise-related content for proposals in response to RFPs.

Mid-level Exercise Planner:

o Support development of discussion- and operations-based exercises addressing the full range of preparedness concerns.

o Support development of HSEEP-based exercise documentation, including planning meeting minutes, PowerPoint presentations, and draft plan sections.

o Support in-depth research, data collection, and analysis efforts.

o Contribute to development of exercise-related content for proposals in response to solicitations.

Required Qualifications:

Senior-level Exercise Planner:

o Over five (5) years experience developing, conducting and evaluating HSEEP-consistent exercises for public and private sector clients.

o At least four (4) years experience serving as Project Manager of exercise projects involving project teams, including subcontractor(s), and client stakeholder groups in which significant delegation and coordination was required

o Strong meeting and exercise facilitation skills.

o Strong multi-media presentation design and development skills.

o Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills please provide a writing sample.

o Extensive experience interacting with senior-level clients, including elected and appointed public officials and corporate executives.

o Some experience providing proposal development and/or management support.

o Expert-level understanding of federal-, state-, and local-level emergency preparedness and management structures and coordination.

o Expert-level understanding of common emergency management principles/practices, including the Incident Command System (ICS), Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), National Incident Management System (NIMS), and Comprehensive Preparedness Guide (CPG) 101, Version 3.0.

o Willing and available to travel up to 25% of the time.

o Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited college/university.

o Masters degree preferred.

Mid-level Exercise Planner:

o At least three (3) years experience supporting HSEEP exercise projects. Strong understanding of federal-, state-, and local-level emergency preparedness and management structures and coordination.

o Strong understanding of common emergency management principles/practices, including HSEEP, ICS, NIMS, and CPG 101 Version 3.0.

o Strong verbal and written communication skills please provide a writing sample.

o Multi-media presentation design and development skills.

o Experience directly interacting with clients in the public and/or private sectors.

o Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Senior-level Exercise Planner:

o At least ten (10) years experience developing, delivering and evaluating HSEEP exercises.

o Over five (5) years experience serving as Project Manager of exercise projects involving multiple professionals, including subcontractor(s), and client stakeholder groups in which significant delegation and coordination was required.

o Extensive experience providing end-to-end proposal development and/or management support.

o Extensive emergency management-related social media experience.

Mid-level Exercise Planner:

o Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills.

o Strong editing and formatting skills.

o Experience interacting with senior-level clients, including elected and appointed public officials and corporate executives.

o Experience contributing to proposal development and/or management efforts.

o Ability to mentor junior-/entry-level planning personnel.

o Experience supporting at least two (2) recent HSEEP exercises projects.

o Experience supporting design, development, conduct, and evaluation of emergency management planning projects.

o Emergency management-related social media experience.

o Willing and available to travel up to 25% of the time.
