Position Overview: Under general supervision, the Mid-level Provider will provide comprehensive patient care, including assessments, medication management, and referrals, while ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations. Individuals in this role will be responsible for, mentoring clinical staff, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and engaging in professional development activities. The Mid-level Provider is expected to know current guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) for treating and screening various conditions. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Patient Care Responsibilities: Delivers direct patient care in alignment with the Texas Medical Board, Texas Board of Nurse Examiners, Nursing Practice Act, and Harris County Public Health (HCPH) procedures and protocols and follows the guidelines set by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) for treating and screening program-specific clients. Clinical Assessment and Documentation: Completes and reviews patient health histories, conducts physical examinations, and orders and assesses appropriate laboratory tests and immunizations. Medication Management: Prescribes and monitors medications in compliance with Pharmacy D regulations. Patient Referrals: Facilitates patient referrals for additional care to clinic teams or community agencies as needed. Staff Mentorship and Support: Utilizes Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) expertise to mentor and serve as a resource for all clinical staff. Policy and Quality Improvement: Ensures adherence to policies and procedures related to care and operations while engaging in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols. Training and Development: Assists with the training of new clinical staff and the enhancement of process improvements. Professional Engagement: Participates actively in clinical provider meetings, staff meetings, and continuing education opportunities. Experience: Experience working in family planning medical clinics Licensure: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certified Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish/Arabic/ or other language) Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work: Full Time | Regular Monday through Friday | 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Must be willing to flex work hours when required, including weekends. Able to travel within Harris County as needed. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional clinic environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
