Job Profile: The Casual Physician Assistant (PA) / Nurse Practitioner (NP) shall provide medical services for onsite occupational health examination and / or medical record review within the United States. This casual position reports to the Acuity International Program Manager assigned to the contract. The Mid-Level Provider performs standard medical care such as medical assessments, evaluation of health status, analyzes data, in relation to the employees capabilities and job requirements. Location of services may at times be in remote, austere, or challenging environments. Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and high paced environment without physical limitations. Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities. The PA/NP protects patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medical care, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies. Records and maintains examinee information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act. Job Responsibilities : Demonstrates proven success in stressful environments. Consistently exercises exceptional diligence in the review of examination results. Thoroughly applies contractual and regulatory guidelines and interprets nuances of exam results to render quality medical determinations as to job position eligibility, medical surveillance, and regulatory and contract compliance. Exercises considerable latitude in independent decision-making and judgment. Maintains a solid understanding of the specific contracts guidelines, requirements, and addendums. Collaborates with exam management team of Physicians, Medical Review Nurses, Client Service Administrators, and Program Managers for efficient processing of medical determinations; communicates exam results and recommendations to examinees; provides medical determinations to client in support of clients occupational health business needs; ensures contract and regulatory compliance and best medical practices. Assists in formulating, documenting, maintaining, and implementing guidelines as dictated by medical directives and contractual or regulatory updates and requirements. Thoroughly cognizant of contract metrics and organizes workload to meet them. Participates in process improvement reviews on policies, objectives, and department operations. Assists in the evaluation of medical requirements and populations at risk to determine staffing, equipment and supply levels related to onsite and mobile services. Maintains all relevant and required certifications and professional licenses. Job Qualifications: Must hold a degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner school. Maintain a current unrestricted / unencumbered active license state license and the ability to be favorably credentialed and clear background check. Must hold a current board certification relative to profession Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) Must have 2 years of clinical experience Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required. Must be able to multi-task, be meticulous, organized, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Work is performed in an interior/office work environment. Work may involve sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. May require bending and lifting to 15 lbs. Constant use of sight, speech, hearing, frequent keying and use of computer, dictation devices and use of medical and office equipment required.
