A key Optimus global trading client is seeking a Middle Office Analyst, preferably with Natural Gas experience.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in commodity risk within a trading environment.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related technical field. CPA, MBA, MS Finance, CFA preferred but not required.
- Experience with ETRM (Endur preferred).
- Familiarity with accounting, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist in Daily Position and P&L reconciliation for natural gas. Act as a key control by independently evaluating the Daily PnL of the LNG trading business, ensuring curves and positions are validated.
- Monitor commodity activities against approved limits and escalate/resolve as required.
- Assist and validate period end closes for commodity-related valuations.
- Ensure compliance with company and regulatory/legal policies and procedures.
- Support the Lead Middle Office Analyst in the implementation of the ETRM LNG system and continuous improvements for Natural Gas Supply and Commercial LNG.
- Collaborate with various teams to resolve trade or position discrepancies and ensure compliant commodity operations.
- Fully support company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence, including reviewing areas of responsibility for improvement opportunities.
- Handle special projects as needed.
