Summary of Role:The ELA Regional Instructional Coach (RIC) supports a portfolio of schools within the Illinois Region and serves as a mentor and role model. The RIC ensures the implementation of Concept School's Academic Excellence Framework by supporting the region's mission of closing the achievement gap and accelerating learning for all students. As an experienced leader, the RIC is an essential member of the Teaching and Learning team and is charged with guiding teachers in vertical alignment, analysis of data related to student mastery, and coordinating intervention and enrichment support for students.Qualifications and Education Requirements: - Master's degree in school administration, curriculum and instruction or related fields
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience (Required)
- School Administration experience (Preferred)
- Appropriate Administrative License (emphasis in educational administration preferred)
- Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
- Proven ability in using student-level data to guide instructional decisions
- Demonstrated Teacher Leadership
- Strong pedagogical knowledge and content expertise in ELA
- Efficiently support standards based ELA instruction in grades K-12

- Effective implementation of the district's academic program grades K-12 in conjunction with the Concept Schools Academic Directors (CSAD), Director of Teaching and Learning, superintendent, principals, department heads, and teachers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work harmoniously with students, parents, teachers, and community members from varied cultural and educational backgrounds

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Serve as a mentor through co-planning, team teaching and modeling lessons in an effort to support teachers in their professional growth
- Perform (non-evaluative) observations and provide feedback on a teacher's planning and delivery of instruction
- Assist with unit and lesson planning by sharing effective instructional strategies with teachers both individually and through in-service workshop
- Analyze state and district assessment data to help target professional development needs; design, plan and implement school and individual-level professional development opportunities addressing instructional content, curriculum, instructional methods, and assessment in the classroom
- Support the development of systems, tools, and processes to support effective coaching practices
- Collaborate with the Director of Teaching and Learning, APAs and school level Instructional Coaches to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment in standards based instruction
- Create and maintain data trackers and various data visualizations from assessment and instructional data to inform teachers and administrators of their progress
- Support the instructional development of all teachers in understanding the CCSS curriculum and varied assessments, Danielson's Framework for Teaching, and data analysis
- Lead Schoology Learning implementation region-wide to advance personalized learning for students and support educators with sharing instructional strategies and accessing high-quality content
- Make recommendations for improvement in performance as appropriate; assist with implementation of goals related to the School Improvement Plan
- Develop, lead and participate in ongoing and job-embedded professional development for the purpose of improving student achievement
