Salary Range: $19,000 - $34,000. The Dalton School seeks a 6th Grade Math Teacher & House Advisor Leave Replacement from January - March 2025. Topics covered during this time period include: Rates and Ratios, Expressions, Equations and Inequalities.The ideal candidate should have experience facilitating an inquiry-based classroom and differentiating instruction. 6th grade Math is taught to heterogeneous groups and is not tracked. The Dalton Middle School Math Department includes grades 4-8 and the 6th grade Math Teacher would be a part of this Department with one other colleague teaching 6th grade Math. This position also includes being a House Advisor to a group of 6th graders. House Advisors are the primary points of contact for families and help to develop the social/emotional growth of each student. House Advisors collaborate with the 6th grade team to develop House curriculum on grade-specific topics and community building programs.Responsibilities:• Collaborate with the other 6th grade Math Teacher, Math Learning Specialist, and Department Chair to develop effective, differentiated lessons. • Teach three sections of 6th grade Math (each section meets 4x per week).• Communicate information regarding progress in math through progress notices, checklist reports, and other student support meetings. • House Advisor duties include two short House periods per day, one long House period per week, facilitating Lab, as well as other coverage duties for the 6th grade.
