Description We are currently hiring Welder/Fabricators for both 1st and 3rd shift. We prefer candidates with MIG Welding and fabrication experience, however, if you do not have welding experience, but would like to learn and make a career out of Welding/Fabricating, we will consider you for our training program. - Layout, position, align and fit together fabricated parts of structural metal products in shop according to blueprint and layout specifications, in preparation for welding.
- Setup and adjust welding machines in order to weld components and assemblies using GMAW, FCAW, and MCAW.
- Plan sequence of operation, applying knowledge of geometry, effects of heat, and allowance for weld shrinkage, machining, and thickness of metal.
- Move parts into position manually or utilizing overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Remove high spots, slag and cuts bevels, using hand files, portable grinders, chipping hammers and cutting & plasma torch.
- Inspect materials, components, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Work effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments.
- Responsible for observing and complying with all safety rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years of production welding and fitting experience preferred
- Higher vocational training preferred
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and AWS standard welding symbols
- Previous experience training others is preferred.
- Experienced in GMAW, FCAW, and MCAW. Knowledge of GTAW is preferred.
PHYSICAL FACTORS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis
- Must be able to stand, reach, walk and bend on a continual basis.
- Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment (cold in winter- hot in summer), including work outside all year in all weather conditions.
