Department:Education & EmploymentLocation: Fully on-site in the Lower East SideSchedule: Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm, flexibility to work evenings and weekends for eventsJob Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $25/hr, 20hrs a weekJob Summary:We are seeking a compassionate and organized Part-Time Migrant Services Case Manager to support migrants and their families in navigating resources and services. This role involves assessing clients' needs, developing personalized service plans, and connecting them to community resources. The ideal candidate will have experience in case management, cultural competence, and a passion for advocacy.They will report directly to our ESOL Case Manager and work collaboratively to provide services.Qualifications:Education:
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred, but not required.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in case management, social work, or working with migrant populations preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources and services for migrants.
  • Being a migrant, a major plus.
Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Work Environment:
  • This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 20 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule, with some evening or weekend hours based on client needs.
  • Travel within the local area may be required to meet with clients and attend community events.
Key Responsibilities:Client Intake and Assessment:
  • Conduct initial assessments to understand clients' needs, challenges, and goals.
  • Gather and maintain accurate documentation of client information.
Service Coordination:
  • Develop individualized action plans to address clients' needs.
  • Connect clients to resources such as housing, healthcare, legal aid, employment, and education.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with service providers, government agencies, and other organizations.
Ongoing Support:
  • Monitor and evaluate clients' progress toward their goals.
  • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Adjust service plans as clients' needs change.
Community Engagement:
  • Build and maintain relationships with local organizations and agencies (i.e. Mayor's Office of Migrant Affairs etc.) that provide migrant services.
  • Participate in outreach activities to inform the migrant community about available resources.
Recordkeeping and Compliance:
  • Maintain detailed and confidential case notes in compliance with organizational and legal standards
  • Assist with taking member attendance.
  • Prepare reports on client outcomes and service delivery as needed.
