Responsible for applying precision spray coatings on machined parts and manufactured product in a manner consistent with Gov., Customer, and In?House specifications.
Responsible for setting?up all paint jobs to include material handling, mixing, equipment maintenance and cleanup
- Responsible for accuracy of own work
- Use inspection gauges and equipment to check work
- Blueprint reading and knowledge
- Assist in application of masking techniques and practices
- Fill out required regulated paperwork and required documentation
- Maintain a clean and orderly material room and inventory log
- Assist Plant Safety Director with storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous waste as requested
- Maintain adequate stock/inventory control of material
Qualifications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Min. 2 yrs. experience directly related to MILSPEC/Aerospace standards
- Familiar with reading and understanding Military and Aerospace specifications and processes
- Working knowledge of different paint systems and components
- Capacity to meet MIL?SPEC, Aerospace, Govt. paint application standards
- Capable of maintaining consistent quality standards
- Produce product within acceptable time allocated per operation
- Ability to follow instructions
- Spray guns, i.e., conventional, pressure pot, HVLP, airless, air brush, etc.
- Thickness gauge
- Gloss meter
- Paint shaker, mixer
- Abrasive blaster, DA, sander, etc.
- Paint baking/drying oven
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area
- Good interpersonal skills
