As directed by the teacher, case manager, or principal, paraprofessionals provide guidance, support, concept review/practice, living skills support, and perform other duties based on specific programs and individual student needs. Hours: As needed Salary: $14.00/hour
QUALIFICATIONS Education: - High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Work Experience: - Experience in or knowledge working with children
Special Knowledge/Essential Skills: - Flexibility to work within a variety of settings including: one-on-one, small and large groups, multiple settings
- Ability to work cooperatively with teachers, students and their families.
- Accepting of individual student needs and limitations
- Ability to be cooperative and flexible in daily changes regarding assigned duties, supervision, and daily schedules.
- Accepts direction from supervising staff in a professional manner.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and administration.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and the ability to resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
Physical / Working demands: - Must be able to lift, pull, and move a minimum of 50 lbs
- Duties may include the supervision of students during recess or outdoor class activities in cold or below freezing temperatures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Provides academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and life skills support
- Supervises students to ensure student safety
- Works Cooperatively with others
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher, case manager, or building principal/assistant principal
