Job Description:
The Mill Superintendent oversees all aspects of mill operations, including managing personnel, ensuring production efficiency, and maintaining quality control standards.Find out more about this role by reading the information below, then apply to be considered. Responsibilities: Manages the mill supervisor, millwright lead, laboratory technicians and other mill personnel as neededMonitors the process in the mill to maintain or increase productionManages quality assurance/quality control for the assay lab and mill operationsWork collaboratively with the Mine and Shaft Depts to maximize opportunities and minimize production interruptions in the mineOversees mill maintenance planningIdentify and troubleshooting issues in the production processProvide technical assistance to mill operators, millwrights, and lab techniciansMaintains chemical inventory and orderingMetallurgical accounting and control of material inventories (concentrate storage, ore tanks, ore pad, etc.)Provide A/R Dept with access to metallurgical data for their preparation of provisional invoices, assay exchange and negotiation for final invoicesCommunicate concentration inventories and production schedules to Shipping Dept daily/weekly to allow for efficient schedule of outbound concentrate haulageMaintain current knowledge of industry practice and technological changeCoordinate with Environmental Dept daily regarding discharge water quality, flow, treatment and TSF conditionsBudget planning for production operations and capitalCompliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conductConsistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performanceWorks without risk or harm to self and othersPunctuality and regular attendance requiredHelp develop other department personnel to perform duties listed aboveEnsure all employees and contractors are working in a safe manner in line with mine site standard operating procedures and MSHA safety guidelinesOther duties, as assigned Qualifications:A bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering is preferredAt least 5 years' experience requiredPossesses good communication and interpersonal skillsGeneral understanding of milling and maintenance operations. Understanding of flotation operation is a plusWorking knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and presentation softwareStrong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and managementAbility to work independently with little supervisionDemonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skillsPresently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basisRequires valid driver's license.
