Agraria cultivates community resilience by modeling regenerative practices that restore ecosystem health, heal our relationship with the land, and grow just and equitable food systems.PositionAssistant ManagerAvailable 12-15 hrs/weekJob DescriptionThe Assistant Manager helps the manager in three main areas: land management, office management, and volunteer management. These responsibilities will be somewhat fluid according to the skills of the fellow and the needs of the farm on any given day or week.Responsibilities & Duties Help tend outdoor spaces including trees and gardens.Help to plan and execute educational events.Help to manage volunteers by calling, emailing, and scheduling individuals or groups.Help to organize equipment and supplies in the office and the barn.Help to manage correspondence and email in the office.Attend meetings as appropriate.Communicate openly with Agraria staff and volunteers.Other duties that support the overall smooth functioning of the youth programs.Abide by and model Agraria's Policies around Safety, Behavior and Community Expectations. Preferred Qualifications Love for the outdoors / ability to work outside in various weather conditions.Commitment to learning.Great verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.Ability to work in a team environment.Availability during educational programs.Familiarity with Google apps such as Google Drive and Gmail.Familiarity with hand tools (shovels, clippers) and possibly power tools (tractor/mower/string trimmer).CPR & First Aid Training. SupervisorEric Beeericbee@Student Miller Fellowships are paid positions with local nonprofit organizations that are awarded grants to employ Miller Fellows.Student Miller Fellows will need to attend the first available Nonprofit Leadership Institute (NLI) at some point during their employment with the nonprofit. The NLI provides information on philanthropy and nonprofits, and provides grounding and framework for learning from their experiences as a Miller Fellow. Students learn how nonprofits operate, how successful nonprofits function, and the important role students play in the community, representing their schools and the YSCF. They meet nonprofit leaders in the community and gain experience through hands-on work sessions.Miller Fellowships are offered to the following individuals: A full-time, degree-seeking student in good standing at a Greene County college or university with a preference towards an Antioch College student.A high school student who is a resident of Yellow Springs/Miami Township or an attendee at Yellow Springs High School; high school Miller Fellows must be 16 years old or older.A resident of Yellow Springs/Miami Township under the age of 25 in a gap year before or during college or home for a vacation period.Students must have completed the YSCF's Nonprofit Leadership Institute (NLI) or apply and complete the next available NLI during their employment.The identified Miller Fellow can be a current employee of the nonprofit if they meet the requirements above.
