About this role

What will you be responsible for?

Newmont is seeking an experienced Mine Maintenance Foreperson to direct all maintenance personnel and be responsible for safety, quality control of work and machine health.

Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

* Create and maintain a strong safety culture. Facilitate technician involvement in safety programs.

* Promote and consistently enforce company and MSHA safety regulations and requirements.

* Directly supervise heavy equipment maintenance personnel.

* Ensure that tasks assigned to the crew are conducted safely, efficiently, and meet quality specifications.

* Coordinate equipment needs and priorities with Production Supervisors, maintenance planning and scheduling personnel, other maintenance supervisors, and superintendents.

* Plan and resource urgent work as well as complete scheduled tasks.

* Maintain detailed and accurate shift records.

* Identify individual crew member's training needs and coordinate training with maintenance trainer and senior technical advisor/trainer.

* Focus on design for reliability with the intent to release an asset to our customers in acceptable condition including but not limited to hose orientation, clamps, harnesses, and clips, etc. in place to avoid failure.

* Assist and advise relief supervisors with inspection and repair quality with the intent to meet and exceed MTTFF goal.

Training, Skills & Experience checklist

Experience:

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine maintenance.

* A strong safety background is required.

* Previous supervisory experience is desirable.

* Experience in surface mining equipment is desirable.

Skills and Abilities:

* Ability to learn basic techniques of the safe handling and proper application of drilling fluids additives.

* Written and verbal communication skills required.

* Basic computer skill required.

* Knowledge of SAP preferred.

Working Conditions & Location

* Position based in United States at the Cripple Creek & Victor Mine, located in Teller County Colorado.

* Must be able to work at high altitude.

* Must be willing to work a 12-hour rotating schedule.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $90,000- 100,000. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
