Job ID: 39090 | Location: Quincy, Florida, USA Clariant is currently looking for an experienced Mining Supervisor to support the Adsorbents and Additives business unit in Quincy Florida. The Mining Supervisor will oversee and manage all mining operations at Clariant's mines in Georgia and Florida. They will also ensure that all operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and in compliance with MSHA, environmental regulations, Federal and State Regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mining operations, safety protocols, and team leadership. This role is a full time, onsite opportunity with some travel required between sites. Responsibilities •Coordinate mining activities including stripping, overburden removal, pumping, and hauling •Ensure all activities are performed in line with production schedules and quality standards •Manage overburden removal, stockpile creation, including implementation of best management practices (BMPs) for erosion control, maintenance of wetland buffers, and safety (creation of stockpile berms, setbacks, etc.) •Coordinate stockpiling, segregating, and delivering various grades of clay to the plant •Initiate and propose ideas to improve the efficiency of the mining process •Enforce safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel by conducting regular safety inspections and audits •Supervise daily mining operations, including drilling, hauling, and crushing •Manage and lead a team of miners and technicians by providing training, mentoring, and performance evaluations •Foster a positive and productive work environment •Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal mining regulations •Maintain records and reports as required by regulatory agencies •Monitor the use of equipment, materials, and resources to optimize efficiency •Coordinate maintenance and repairs of mining equipment •Address operational challenges and develop solutions to minimize downtime and enhance productivity •Prepare and present regular reports on production, safety, and other key performance indicators to management Requirements •Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field preferred; applicable work experience accepted in lieu of education •5-10 years of experience in a mining environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role •Good communication skills to effectively manage Mining Contractors and Clariant Mining staff •Proficiency in using mining software and tools •Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, walking, and lifting heavy objects •Willingness to work in remote locations and adapt to varying weather conditions What's in it for you?
