POSITION PURPOSE This dynamic role involves collaboration across all of the mine, driving the development and execution of impactful culture programs and improvement initiatives as well as developing analysis tools to drive cost control across the company and coordinating budgets and planning cycle.You will act as a catalyst for meaningful change, respectfully challenging the status quo and introducing innovative approaches to how we operate, driving the company vision through setting the bar on values, behaviors and mindsets to ensure the success of all improvement initiatives across site.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Leadership
- Implement framework for transformation initiatives that align processes to ensure consistent and effective initiative management.
- Drive and develop a business improvement culture, mindset and passion across the mine site.
- Drive transformation initiatives to drive good safety outcomes, increase quality standards, improve production efficiencies and unlock cost savings to hit the bottom line.
- Provide high level oversight of all programs and projects in the site portfolio to drive alignment with strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize projects based on business needs, availability-of-resources, and assessed-risk.
- Model the company values and mindsets to ensure achievement of our vision, influencing these standards across site.
- Transformation Portfolio
- Facilitate and provide coaching to operational teams on deployment of improvement practices to analyze current state, identify opportunities and build the foundations for future state.
- Work with departments to develop baselines for all initiatives and calculate targeted improvements and cashflow impacts.
- Monitor the progress of all initiatives, ensuring they meet key milestones, budgets, and provide the required deliverables.
- Attend monthly cost review meetings and identify improvement initiatives to add to TO pipeline for each department. Work with departments to develop action plans to realize benefits from initiatives.
- Review project plans, charters, and requirements to ensure strict adherence to governance standards.
- Ensure the availability of the necessary tools and resources project managers require to deliver successful projects.
- Work with departments to conduct post project Implementation monitoring to analyze long term project benefits.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- liaise between departmental teams and senior leadership to provide regular updates on project status, risk, support requirements, and outcomes.
- Engage key stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of project objectives.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to align projects and supporting initiatives.
- Planning and Analysis
- Work with Commercial Manager and Finance Superintendent to improve budget and planning tools, and develop planning framework for the company.
- Drive improved business performance via analysis of historical data and development of forecasting tools that result in visibility of pending business issues and development of optimal action plans to address.
- Build cost driver analysis for month end reporting and embed into Finance team month end analysis
- Coordinate planning and budgeting cycles setting out timelines, detailed work requirements and preparing analysis to ensure cost efficient and optimized budgets and plans are developed.
- Work with Finance team to aid in development of bottom up cost budgets for each department, developing analysis tools to respectfully challenge costs and aid in driving down cost base at the mine.
- Ensure planning outcomes enhance the value of the business
- Champion cross functional site involvement in the budgeting process to ensure presentation of a complete business case, inclusion of potential uplift opportunities and identification of risks.
- Actively challenge the validity of key budget drivers to ensure the pursuit of business excellence, using data and analysis to support the challenge.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Knowledge Required: Bachelor's degree in commerce or accounting or related field.CA/CPA qualifications, preferredExperience of five years in business analysis role.Key Competencies / Skills
