**Mining Environmental Engineer Intern**

**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

+ Development of yearly reclamation and remediation plans;

+ Water sampling and logging of data;

+ Assist in establishing native flowers, habitat, and food plots on various active and legacy mine sites;

+ Assist in storm water inspections and plan updates;

+ Involvement in planning, installation, and maintenance of erosion control best management practices;

+ Collect soil & vegetation samples from an ongoing field study;

+ Involvement in agency inspections;

+ Operation of reclamation equipment;

+ Work with GIS ArcView;

+ Surveying with a Trimble GPS;

+ Assist other department personnel as needed.

**WHO YOU ARE**

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;

+ Students must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Environmental Engineering (or related field) and have completed their sophomore year by the start of their co-op or internship;

+ In addition to current enrollment interns must work at the Soda Position.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Desired Coursework:

+ Watershed Management, Range-Wildlife Relation, Revegetation 20, GIS & GPS, Soil/Environmental Chemistry, Soil & Water Conservation, Environmental Law, Elements of Mining, Project Management, Environmental Engineering.
